Amapiano did not become famous by the efforts of one person only. It was a concerted effort of the founding fathers of the genre including; Dj Jaivane, MFR Souls, JazziDisciples, Kabza De Small, Vigro Deep, Kwiish SA, De Mogul SA, ElusiveBoy SA, ThackzinDJ and many more.

Although DJ Maphorisa and Major League DJz were not among the first guys to do Amapiano, we cannot overemphasize the influence that they had on the movement. Major League DJz took the sound to the global stage and Dj Maphorisa's partnership with Kabza De Small has been a blessing to Amapiano.

Amapiano has no one globally recognized and accepted King. It is a kingdom that is ruled by no one and yet ruled by everyone. However, Kabza De Small is fondly referred to as the King of Amapiano while Kelvin Momo is the one and only undisputed King of Soulful and Private School Piano. He shares the latter title with DJ Jaivane who is the best mixer in the industry.

The log drum is one of the essential instruments used in Amapiano production. It is a well known and accepted truth that Mdu aka TRP was the first person to introduce the Log drum in Amapiano. This has been corroborated by many producers including Dj Maphorisa and Kabza De Small.
