{"id":78252,"date":"2021-01-07T12:48:56","date_gmt":"2021-01-07T11:48:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amapiano.co\/za\/?p=78252"},"modified":"2021-01-07T12:48:58","modified_gmt":"2021-01-07T11:48:58","slug":"dbn-gogo-under-fire-for-comments-on-sa-being-shut-down-not-just-groove-and-alcohol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amapiano.co\/za\/dbn-gogo-under-fire-for-comments-on-sa-being-shut-down-not-just-groove-and-alcohol\/","title":{"rendered":"DBN Gogo under fire for comments on SA being shut down, not just Groove and Alcohol"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">French Kiss hitmaker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amapiano.co\/za\/dbn-gogo-biography-songs\/\">DBN Gogo<\/a> has come under attack on Twitter for questioning why the South African government chose to shut down only grooves and the sale of alcohol, instead of imposing a total lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Covid-19 cases continued to soar, last week President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the decision that the SA Govt has placed the country on level 3 lockdown with stricter restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since then, and as the number of COVID-10 infections increases daily, conversations around the virus have dominated social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DBN Gogo took to Twitter to question why groove had been shut down and not other social gatherings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Why couldn&#8217;t the entire country be on pause and not just booze and the jol&#8221; &#8211; Tweeted DBN Gogo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Thokoza Cafe artist, her question was simple and required just a simple answer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;\u201cIt\u2019s a simple question. If social gatherings are the issue, why have they not all been closed? When groove and alcohol were shut. However, the star was not willing to compromise on her position, lambasting the government, adding that it was not truly dealing with the issues head-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBut was the first lockdown not implemented to prepare for worst-case scenario? That\u2019s literally why we shut down hard and early. My problem is gov not actually dealing with this.
