DJ Maphorisa – real name Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe shared on Instagram how he bagged at least eight bookings on Dec 16 which made him a whooping 2.4 Million Rands.

The Soshanguve-born Amapiano producer and disc jockey is one of the genre's most celebrated icons.

There is no denying that DJ Maphorisa is one of the top DJs in the country – which explains why he is contantly being booked. He has smash hits like Izolo, Abalele and Banyana – which is just a few of his many smash records.

The producer announced via his Instagram feed that he had been booked eight times on Saturday Dec 16.

According to sources, the DJ charges around R200K for indoor events and R300K for outdoor events. Assuming he was paid a minimum of R200K for the eight bookings he would have made R1.6 million, and R2.4 million if all the events were outdoor gigs.

DJ Maphorisa was booked at The Bears Palace – Carolina, Dickenson Park – Veereenigeng, Nostra – Bryanston, Elkah Stadium (Makubenjalo) – Soweto, Metsing Tshisa Nyana – Orange Farm, Trimpark – Potchfstroom, Wedela Sports Ground – Carletonvelle, and at Zone 6 venue – Soweto.

Netizens have since praised him for working hard, however some were concerned about his health and urged him to slow down.
