Before he became very popular and begun making music with DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small had been championing the Amapiano Genre little by little. He dropped his first Avenue Sessions Mixtape in the mid 2010's. Umshove changed the Amapiano landscape and tweaked the sound a bit. If you want to know what Amapiano sounded like before it's blowout, then let's take you back to Avenue Sessions Volume 1.
The mixtape features Amapiano in it's most crude form. Like an infant, the genre was just beginning to grow at the time this mixtape was released so many of it's elements are still very pure.
