Lira – “I am recovering well, unfortunately my speech is affected”

Lira is a talented artiste who started performing live at the age of 16, while singing both cover versions and self-penned songs. Her real name is "Lerato Moipone Molapo" In 2000 she was discovered by musician and producer Arthur Mafokate, who had her sign with his own record label, 999 Music, and helped her release her debut album, All My Love (2003).

Her album "Soul in mind" garnered several South African Music Awards nominations and ultimately took home the Album of the Year prize. She is one popularity artiste known in the whole of South Africa.

Lira has one month ago released a statement which stated that she was suffering from a severe paralysis. This tragedy occurred after she had a performance in Germany. She got many comforting words and prayers from her fans on revealing her state of health.

Today we are happy to announce to you all that your favorite singer is getting better from the statement she made although her speech is not very good but we believed that she will recover fully soon.

“Dear Fam, thank you for your overwhelming love, support, and prayers. I am recovering well. Physically I have been unaffected, I am strong and healthy. The stroke has unfortunately affected my speech, however, I am making lots of progress every day. I will be taking some time to focus on my recovery. Please keep your prayers coming, I can’t wait to be back soon. All my love,” she shared on her Instagram account.
