I honestly thought that this weekend would end quietly, because of the frequency of hits that we have been receiving in recent weeks. But Maero and his brothers had other plans for fans. The MFR Souls have dropped their latest song, "Abahambayo" featuring T-Man SA, Mzulu Kakhulu, and Khobzn Kiavalla. And by God this song is a hit.
MFR Souls were among the first producers to be on the Amapiano trains. They were one of the originators who shaped the genre to what it became. One would have noticed that they have not been very actively releasing new songs and now we know why. The group have been creating a new sound. The new song fuses elements of Isicathamiya and Amapiano together.
Isicathamiya is a singing style that originated from the South African Zulus. In European understanding, a cappella is also used to describe this form of singing. When this is fused with Amapiano, what you get is Abahambayo.
