Uncle Waffles Losses BET Awards To Burna Boy

Swaziland-born DJ, Uncle Waffles, has lost the BET Awards' "Best International Artist" category to Nigeria's Burna Boy. The Swaziland-born DJ was nominated for the Best International Act at the 2023 edition of the Black Entertainment Awards, BET.

The deejay and producer was nominated alongside nine other artists which includes Aya Nakamura from France, Ayra Starr from Nigeria, Nigeria's Burna Boy (Winner), Central Cee from UK, Ella Mai from UK, K.o from South Africa, L7nnon from Brazil, Stormzy and Tiakola.

However, Burna wasn't at the show to receive the award, but his mother, Bose Ogulu walked up to the stage to accept the award. Uncle Waffles was present at the show, and news about her loss has taken over SA Twitter following weeks of dragging her for representing Swaziland instead of South Africa.

Burna Boy will be the first Nigerian Artist in history to win the BET Awards "Best International Artist".
